a sad post from michael
The lovely Maria is no longer with us. An automobile accident removed her from us early Monday morning. There will be a viewing/celebration service to remember her wonderful life and to mark her death. The service will be at Hartselle Heritage Funeral Home, Saturday at 2 or 3, and if anybody wishes to send flowers, their address is 1401 Main Street, East, Hartselle Alabama 35640.

Again, we are all saddened by her loss, and are poorer for her passing. Feel free to post here memories of her, ways she has touched your life and made the world a beeter place.

Michael, our condolences.....From what we knew of Maria she was wonderful, and we had hoped to meet you both, someday. The loss is all of ours to bear.

My god.. Michael, I'm so very sorry! Words seem inadequate, as she was a beautiful person and the pain that you're feeling must be beyond my ability to imagine. She loved you more than life itself, and made it clear how much you loved her.

I weep for your loss, and the loss to us all. The world is a dimished place without her.

I am speechless and utterly heartbroken. Michael, I am so sorry... our thoughts are with you all.

I came to know Maria by way of my husband and we quickly found a wonderful connection. She was such an amazing cheerleader for love and happiness... even when she had so many things going on in her own life. Maria was a fighter... and my fellow partner in crime in the quest to educate the world about the virtues of ketchup.

I will miss her posts and her smiling face. She was smart, funny and total sweetheart.

I am so sorry for your loss. Maria was a kind, warm, beautiful, brilliant woman. I will always remember her witty comments and sparkly smile, among all the other things.

I know you guys were so much in love, Michael, and my heart breaks for you. There is no way to imagine.

I first met Maria (and you) at [info]kodakrome and [info]jillykilroy's birthday party/prom. She walked right up to me, and treated me like she had known me forever. She made sure I was included in everything - including the squeezing of the breast. :) I have enjoyed her energy ever since, and even during our talks about chronic pain, she was always upbeat and lived her life to the fullest around it. I am glad she got to touch my life in little ways, even if only for 2 years.

I wish I was in town to be there, but my thoughts will definately be with you and your families.

I was just telling someone earlier how Maria was the kind of person who would seek out the loners at parties and make them feel welcome.

She was a special person.

OMG I just found out. I can't believe I'll never see her again. I'm so sorry for Michael. Oh I wish I could be there at the service. I have no idea what to say; I just found out and I'm still reeling. God I'll miss her.

Michael, I am so sorry for your loss. You and Maria were both so kind to me when I came to Huntsville. I'll always remember her as overflowing with life and love. We were all blessed to have known her.

i didn't have the pleasure of knowing maria, but i am friends with many people who care about her a great deal. they have all described maria with much love, light, and happiness. i will keep your friends and family in my thoughts. it appears that she was a blessing to those she came in contact with.. maria will be missed by all.

Our family is so sorry for your lose, and the lost to us all. maria was such a ray of sunshine and we all just loved her so much. She will be missed by us all.

I always worried about her so damn much. Goes to show what worry will do.

I've been her friend here in LJ land for 3 years I believe.

I know how much she loved you. I hate to say it, because I know it hurts so much, but I always admired your relationship.

I'm grief stricken. This world is short one beautiful beautiful girl.

Hi Michael. I met Maria this year at VM and then got to her know better with e-mail and blogs. She was a wonderful person. She built bridges everywhere she walked and was such a genuinely accepting person.

I am so sorry for your loss. I pray that you'll find some sort of peace in knowing how many lives she touched, and that you'll find your way through the pain.

Michael,

I first met the fantabulous Maria when Les Miserables was in town two years ago. She was so sweet and welcomed me into her life immediately. Then I had to go and have food poisoning and relive my dinner in the bathroom of the VBC. She was even sweeter when she saw my pale pasty face.

I always wanted to be closer to Maria. you know, make plans to meet you guys for dinner so we could talk of world of warcraft and other fun things. And because you always think there is plenty of time, I got caught up in my own life of crazy planning and working. We were talking about you guys just last night... How we needed to get you an invitation to our wedding. I just read her comment in my journal about my grandmother last night. I hope her Nona can be strong losing Maria.

Bless you Michael... take comfort where you can. She graced so many lives with the warmth of her smile, the richness of her laughter, and the beauty inside her big wonderful heart.

Honored to have known you Maria... I'll sure miss you.

i am stilled by this unthinkable tragedy.

her vibrancy in this journal
i'm sure only radiated a degree of her presence.

please know that her vibrant spirit
inspires me to remember
to always choose life over fear,

Maria, I wish that I got to spend more time with you. Your sparkling wit, intelligence, empathy, and panache were qualities that I love and respect so much.

I remember sitting outside Chris' old apartment on the steps and smoking cigarettes (we were bad! :D) with you while we shared our philosophies and you gave me advice. I remember how beautiful you looked at your wedding; you had this glow about you.

I'm almost expecting you to reply to this with a sassy comment. Though you aren't here with us on earth, you are still very much alive to me, as well as everyone else.

I am so sorry. I don't know what to say. I want to say something wonderful and comforting, but I just don't know what to say. Maria is and always will be one of the most beautiful people I have ever had the pleasure to know. I loved her very much and I know that my grief cannot even come close to what you must be experiencing right now. Please let me know if you need anything at all. I still live in the same place- right next to Randy's old house. Anything that I can do at all- cook you some meals, hug you for a long time, sit with you and cry- please feel free to call on me. 256-536-3815. I am supposed to be out of town this weekend for a dance competition, but I am going to see if I can get out of it. I love you, Christina
